This book is the culmination of some fifty-three different authors who submitted verse and stories in a competition which promised all entries would be published with the best chosen at the discretion of the publisher. Consequently “Writers of Byron Shire” was published in 1987. Each entry was recorded as per the original and editing was kept true to the submission including errors of comprehension, spelling and punctuation. While the editor has kept the original text, it is with some literary interest that the original wobbly type font remains unchanged. Each entrant received a hand-bound book.

Solveig Larson's untitled verse received thumbs up plus a grand $50.00, an artists' easel and best wishes.

The publisher would like to thank all those who submitted from the heart.

Writers of Byron Shire” now resides in the State Library of New South Wales.
